House of 100 Hands
CO-CURATOR
HOUSE OF 100 HANDS
In 2012, together with Bent Van Looy, Martena co-curated the exhibition ‘House of 100 Hands’ at De Brakke Grond in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The exhibition was part of Fashion Week Downtown.
Says Brakke Grond:
‘De Brakke Grond invited Das Pop front man Bent Van Looy (BE) and make-up artist Martena Duss (CH) to design the exhibition House of 100 Hands. Both artists are based in Paris and flow with the greatest of ease between visual art, music, handicrafts and fashion. Duss has invited a group of international artists to take part in a colourful feast for the senses. What this eclectic group of artists and designers have in common is a passion for different materials and interesting textures. Alice in Wonderland has nothing on this. ‘
Participating artists were Mr & Mrs Cameron (NL), Roel Endendijk (NL), Ana Kras (Servië), Delphine Mille (FR), NEPCO (NL), Claire-Anne O’Brien (UK), Bauke Knottnerus (NL), Les Infames (FR), Super Groupe (FR), Riette Wanders (NL), Megan Whitmarsh (US) and Statue (FR).
